 New HM Organizer
Hi y’all!

My name is Rachelle Cyrier and I live about 35 miles south of Austin in the small town of Lockhart with my husband John, our 2 horses Big Jake and Rocket, 3 Labradors Dutch, Tux and Butterscotch, 3 barn cats Mia, Hank and Domino, and about 20 Texas Longhorns whom all have names, but would take much too long to list and would most certainly bore you.

In the horse world I often refer to myself as a late bloomer because even though I loved horses as a little girl I didn’t have the opportunity to consistently ride or own one until I was 25. My first horse was Delta Tiger, a dark bay off-the-track Thoroughbred. For several years we rode at Spicewood Farms in north Austin, but the commute worsened so I began searching for an instructor closer to home. One day my husband came home from the local feed store with a card advertising a lesson facility in Red Rock, and…

In 2004, Delta and I began riding with Vicki Taylor. It was through her that I was introduced to Pony Club and began volunteering. I immediately thought, “What a wonderful organization!” So this year I was thrilled to hear that some felt I would be a good fit for the HMO role. I am very excited about this opportunity and look forward to working with such an amazing group of volunteers, parents, and kiddos.

Many praises have been given to Bethel for her contribution and approach to Horse Management. As a HM volunteer, I witnessed first-hand her work ethic, dedication, and enthusiasm. The barn environment was friendly, safe, fun, sensible, challenging, upbeat, judicious, relaxed, educational, optimistic, encouraging, and rewarding. My plan is to continue on the same path, which Bethel paved so well.

Talk to you soon!

Rachelle
